thank you Mr Farhat Rajhi

thank you Mr Farhat, minister of interior.
you 've done great job in hard times when it's has been so difficult to be at the head of such ministry . you  showed along other men great courage , devotion and love of the country . maybe you are the first interior minister liked by the citizens , well at least in Tunisia

as a citizen, i also do not doubt the wisdom of the prime minister and the measure must have been well studied. personnaly, i guess it's not related to the dissolution of the ex-ruling party.
Maybe it has something to do with the artists who couldn't perform in some places here and there.

anyway, thank you Mr clean

congratulations for libya

finally, the war planes have been banned from killing our brothers in Libya. this measure shows a bit of the remaining ethical values of the world. the values of standing by the weak and the civilians in Libya are weak if we take into consideration the air force at the disposal of Ghaddafi's regime.

international relationships are primarily based on interests. this is politics and often politics is with  little Ethics. So don't panic Libyans ; we the Arabs are very idealistic.  after all every country has its calculations and interests but it is a lesson that  you  have to learn though a unfortunately a very expensive lesson. And you have also to make your calculations which shouldn't exclude " a united and only one libya"

long long live a free united  Libya. you deserve what you went for and inchallah, you finish  your journey towards freedom. i say God bless the martyars. it's a new  history which is being written and you showed great courage and patience and God rewards for these things

Dictators nurture terrorism rathan than fight it

There is a unanimity in the Arab world  for a no-fly  zone on the arab Norh Afriican state. But still the U.N. is reluctant  to act .The attitude of the superpowers ca be understandable at first as they may have taken into consideration the attitude of the peoples in the region who are sensitive towards foreign intervention.  But now the Arab League of which Libya is a full member made it cristal clear that it is for a no fly zone.  The security council is after all responsible for world peace and it has to act immediately and effectively.
The government in Libya has failed to protect the citizens  and it doesn’t seem that it intends to .
It’s not really wise to wait and see what happens . superpowers need to be clear and firm on the questions of democracy and liberty in the region.  Are they really ready to support the peoples in their bid for democracy and liberty . It’s not enough to say” violence must stop” or this or that dictator “must go”while waiting what’s happening on the ground. We’ll just see thousands of  civilians falling every day.
false claims have been made by  dictators in the region without exception because they know they are left in power simply to fight terrorism. Mubarak of Egypt went as far as bombing a church to prove this terrorism which is only in his mind. Ben Ali of Tunisia also spoke about terrorism at the beginning of the revolution, again it was fiction. Ben Laden has nothing to do with revolts swepping the region.  And nobody believes  Ben Laden is behind  the uprisings in the region as the colonel says.
Besides,  the outcome of the  fight in libya will be detrimental  to  the settlement in the region  bearing in mind  two revolutions on the borders . And The move of the U.N. will either push for more more democracy and free modern societies  in the region or halt it.  Therefore it’s high time to fight terrorism  by helping the peoples in  the region to have democratic governments rather than nurture it by doing  nothing or doing less.

post revolutionary Tunisia

I have long been fascinated by western democracies and I envied them too for the freedom they enjoy and the respect of the citizen. And have always dreamt of something of the type in my country. But now my dream is a bit beyond that. I dream of a democracy that really empower the people and not few hundreds who alternate between the government and the shadow government accusing one an other and the goal is either continue in power or take power. These people whose main objective is the power need to be controlled one way or an other. There should be a third party which is neutral and doesn’t intend to be in power. You may say the media can play this role but ther’s no guarantee as it’s not always neutral and can be manipulated by the government, the rich, lobbies...etc.
The real opposition should be national rather than parliamentary that is in the hands of the citizens. We are experementing this in Tunisia. no job is secure in the government today and ministers fear interviews in the media because they have turned in what may be called “job interviews” . some of them failed their job interviews and were fired.
People are much more politicized than ever before. these days, in tunisia every measure taken by the government is carefully scrutinized by people in coffees, at work.. and on the web. Views of independent scholars and experienced people are always respected. there’s no place for opportunists, hypocrite and liers . People are very intelligent and it’s not difficult to discover these. Politicians are evaluated by their history first(struggle) and or their experience. once admitted as ministers, the measures they take become the only criteria of evaluation.
In post revolutionary Tunisia ,the power is still in the hands of the people and do not intend to give it all to anybody be it an institution or an individual. these days, we are delegating some powers to judges as we are backing them for their assertion of independence. The decision to dissolve the ex-ruling party by the court was backed by people outside the court and the decision to dissolve the committee oppointed by the interim president to deal with corruption is being supported by people as we the people we don’t want to delegate the powers of the courts to committees no matter how clean its members are(and they are clean people ) and no matter who appointed its members be it the interim president himself.
I’m not worrying if there will be no opposition at all in future parlaiaments. And i prefer that the “national opposition” should always remain national in the hands of cyber activists along with scholars..unions and civil associations.
To outsiders i say if you read a minister resigned, be sure “it’s not political unsettlement” , but because he/she is unfit for the job.

M. Chabbi misses the goal

Mr Nejib Chabbi, the ex-regional  developement minister in his speech of resignation expressed fears tthat the army might take power. But the Tunisian army is no less than any other republican army worldwide. It’s  faithful to its principals and duties. It’s noteworthy to say that the army during the rule of Hbib Bourguiba, the first president of Tunisia never interfered in politics because Bourguiba wanted it a republican army and it didn’t interfere even during the final days of Bourguiba who was phisically unfit to lead the country, well to be more precise, it didn’t take power . It’s true that Ben Ali who took power in 1987 was once a general, but by the time ,he dethrowned Bourguiba, he was at the head of the government as a prime minister. Anyway,  One can not  put himself in the shoes of others but as far as i’ve heard, the army declared more than once that it intends to protect the people and the revolution of the people and that what has been  said is nothing more than rumours. I guess rumours formulated  by those who don’t like the new changes, those who don’t like to be judged for corruption and those who are against the revolutionary changes that are due to be set . My point is not about the army .it’s rather about the speech of resignation of Mr Chabbi in which he pointed to the his fears. Before the resignation of Mr Ghannouchi, there was a huge refusal of  this government that was enhanced by its inability to respond to the demands of the public mainly the question of corruption, the dissolution of parliament and the EX-governing party. Therefore a coalition led by the UGTT( trade unions), civil associations, judges,lawyers...etc pressured for resignation and imposed that a new government, a counsil for the protection of the revolution, and an other elected council  should be formed and that participants in the new government should not participate in the coming elections in order for them not to make electoral campaigns while in power. It’s following the demands of this coalition backed by the large sit-in in the Kasba that the government of Ghannouchi fell. I think that  Mr chebbi was pushed to resign.it wasn’t a bold move on his part so he had to make something out of this resignation. To digress the public from the real causes behind his resignation , he expressed his fears to appear as a man of democracy in the eyes of the public. But I say what I think Mr CHABBI failed his “first electoral campaign” when he chose the ministry of regional deveopment which could have acqauinted him with the regions across the country acquiring potential votes in each region. He was not in favour of the demands of the public that were recently formulated while he was in the government so he couldn’t back their demands. What can he make then  out of this imposed resignation: nothing except expressing his doubts towards the army. Again MrCHEBBI, you missed the goal.  we respect the army, but we also respect you , minister as a citizen who was once repressed by dictatorchip like any other citizen in Tunisia.
i'm a citizen not affiliated for any party and he who wants my vote has to prove that he really deserves it ( i do not defend the army and the army doesn't need my defense ) .a citizen who is happy with his newly born freedom and wants to speak his mind

libya, the middle east and the "humane" west

I don't really find the words to describe what has reached to us from the net and aljazeera channel showing what's really happening in Libya right now except "god bless tehm". but what kills me most is this silence towards the hundreds of people who are dying in lybia. and we don't listen to those who have always preached the  values of human rights and democracy. does human rights and democracy come only with tanks and the plans of partition like what we saw in Iraq?

but peoples have strong memories. they will never forget this silence mainlly this disgusting unanymous western silence.  people in Libya are courageous enough to oust this dictator. But they are also wise enough to understand your silence ; you preachers of human rights, animal rights... you are interested only in what is under the soil of libya . human beings are the last thing that matters to you. we are no longer slaves. we are free peoples and worth of human rights as well. we'll soon have accountable governing bodies and you won't find who implements your dirty policies of empoverishment, illiteracy, and fanaticism. It is hight time that you side by the peoples because  dictators go and we the people stay . it is now or never!!
